Trip Description
California Pelagic season 2026 aboard the Pacific Star. Built in 1977 as a sport fishing boat named The Bold Contender this all aluminum vessel served San Diego and San Pedro for years till she was renamed The Pacific Star and refitted for diving.
Meals on the Star start in the morning with a continental breakfast of breads, fruits, cereals, juices, and of course some of Sonja’s (head chef) home baked goodies. Lunch and Dinners are sit down style. You sit down and we serve you. No drive thru lines here, just relax, enjoy and let us do the work. Meals range from soup and sandwiches to roast pork with all the trimmings and if VEGAN, no worries, just let us know and it’s Boca Burgers around.
Use your bunk for a well deserved nap. The Pacific Star bunk room holds 6 single bunks and 6 double bunks in 5 private staterooms and 8 single bunks and 4 double bunks in a common sleeping area, all with privacy curtains and reading lights. A high speed blower provides ventilation and they provide blankets and pillows for your snoozing comfort.
For those flying in, Long Island Airport is the closest.
Requirements
Recommended 5mm suit, Hood, Gloves, Good Fins, Fishing License (if you so chose to spearfish).

Advanced Open Water, or higher certification is highly recommended if you plan on Scuba diving. Channel islands is know for its rough surge and possible stronger currents.
- Water Temp is usually around 70 degrees. Visibility typically 60ft-90ft

Any gear needed for Scuba can be rented from the ScubaVentures at a discounted rate.
- Weights are free so need to bring your own. Nitrox can be filled for a fee, crew picks up and drops off your gear in the designated loading and unloading spots.

- $200 Deposit for spot reservation
- $700 is total cost not including flights or travel expenses to and from your home to San Pedro, California.

Freshwater Diving

Trip Description
- Day 1: Start with a manatee snorkel in the Crystal River Break for lunch and then drift diving the Rainbow River in the afternoon.
- Day 2: Manatee Springs (2 tanks).
- Day 3: Blue Grotto (1 tank) and Devils Den (1 tank).
- Day 4: Paradise Springs (2 tanks), if Advanced Certified.
- Day 5: Guided Kayaking Tour
- Day 6: Open to Activities
Requirements
- Any gear needed for Scuba can be rented from the shop at a discounted rate or rented from the dive shop on location.

Advanced Open Water or higher certification is required for all planned diving.

Water temps at the diving locations sit about 72 degrees. 5mm suit is recommended.

Before and After You Dive
Before you dive, come in for an equipment inspection and evaluation. Proper maintenance is EXTREMELY important. We suggest you bring your equipment in for service one month or more prior to your travel dates.

Guidelines for Flying After Diving
- A minimum of 12-hour surface interval is recommended for the single no-decompression dive
- A minimum of 18-hour surface interval for multi-day repetitive diving
- Substantially longer than 18 hours after diving involving compulsory decompression, or using heliox and trimix.
